Way way out, in the countryside of Virginia, is a tiny town where you and your family can stay and hold a wedding. If you’re thinking about planning a rural Virginia wedding, this is the spot. There is an old, stone built altar out in the woods covered in moss and surrounded by trees. The town is small, with one big event space right in the middle. Think wrap around porches, rocking chairs on the deck and views of a gorgeous little lake. Basically, it has it all. This was the setting for Virginia & Eli’s Wedding.
We met in town that morning and had a lovely breakfast together. After, we went back to the house that the bride’s family was renting and got ready. A quick carriage ride up the hill and you’re at their ceremony site. The trees are wonderfully old, and the stone altar is gorgous in it’s detail and lack there of. They held a lovely, sentimental ceremony and vowed to be best versions of themselves they could. With the dappled light shining down on them they kissed and happily danced their way into married life. The horse drawn carriage took them down to the lake for some photos and then we wandered into their reception space and up the most amazing spiral staircase I’ve ever seen.
