You know those engagement sessions where everything just clicks? Tara and Michael’s Spring Oatlands Engagement Session was exactly that — pure magic from start to finish. Perfect light, beautiful weather and peak springtime blooms.
If you’ve never been to Oatlands Historic House & Gardens, let this be your sign to add it to your weekend plans. This spot is a total hidden gem in Northern Virginia — especially in the spring when the flowers start waking up and the gardens turn into a full-on romantic movie set.
Tara showed up in a perfect “frolicking through a garden” white dress that caught the breeze in all the right ways. Michael kept it clean and crisp with a sharp outfit that perfectly complemented the soft, dreamy vibe of the gardens. Together, it was a fun relaxed, beautiful session.
We spent the evening wandering through cozy little nooks, winding garden paths, and snapping photos against backdrops of fresh blooms and historic stone walls. The azaleas, catmint, hydrangeas and lilies were showing off big time. Every corner we turned around felt like it deserved a spot on a wedding mood board — so gorgeous!
The thing I loved most about this session? Tara and Michael were totally themselves the whole time. Laughing, snuggling up, and just enjoying the excuse to hang out together in a beautiful place. That’s the vibe I always aim for in Engagement Sessions. No stiff poses, no forced smiles, just relaxed, candid moments that feel like you.
If you’re dreaming about your own Spring Oatlands Engagement Session (or something equally magical), let’s make it happen. This place is seriously one of my favorite spots for couples photos, and spring through fall is when it really shines.
