When a global pandemic hits and your wedding is planned smack in the middle of it, you have to change some things up. This gorgeous Rixey Manor Wedding was still beautiful, still loving, and still full of friends. When Alexandra & Michael realized this really wasn’t going to happen they cancelled and decided to elope down in Charleston with family.
Once returning though, they realized they wouldn’t be able to get a refund for certain parts of their original plan, and after giving it some serious thought they decided to hold a micro wedding with just their bridal party. They gathered at the mansion and carried on with a fun and wonderfully lavish weekend, turning an unfortunate moment into an amazing day. We held a mock ceremony, played with the puppies in the back yard and gathered around a hipster looking bar for a celebratory drink, we even cut the cake! While this may not be the most traditional wedding that I’ve ever been to, it was wonderfully fun and totally centered around how happy and in love the bride and groom are.
Congratulations A&M your micro wedding was a hit and a big thanks to all of those who helped pull off this lovely Rixey Manor Wedding.

If you’re dreaming about your own summer wedding at Rixey Manor (or something equally magical), let’s make it happen. This place is seriously one of my favorite Northern Virginia Manors for a wedding, and I’d love to see you there!
